Ben Simmons did it.

Finally.

The Philadelphia 76ers player, who was the first overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, hit the first 3-pointer of his career Tuesday night and NBA fans lost their minds.

Granted, it did come in an exhibition game against the Guangzhou Loong Lions but it was still a 3-point shot that went through the hoop and went on the scoreboard.

Simmons, who has struggled mightily with his outside shot during his career, drained his historic 3-pointer in the final seconds of the first half Tuesday night in Philadelphia.

He worked on it all summer and it seemed to pay off right here:

The 23-year-old Simmons is still 0-for-17 in the regular season on 3-pointers in his NBA career. He made one, on just three attempts, during his one season at LSU.

We image the reaction will be even crazier whe n he hits an official three in a regular-season game against an actual NBA team.
